BARBARA JEAN HARVEY, age 81, Floral City, died November 1, 2012 at Woodland Terrace. Barbara was born on September 1, 1931 in Paragould, AR to the late William and Sybil (Morten) Rogers. She enjoyed dealing in antiques, reupholstering many of the pieces, reading and was an excellent cook. Barbara is survived by her husband of 62 years, Melvin A. Harvey; son Myron A. (Diane) Harvey, Long Beach, MS and James (Lynn) Harvey, St. Petersburg, FL, her daughter Elizabeth A. Linhares, (Sam Mudd) Inverness, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, R.V. Rogers and Reba Perisho. A celebration tribute to Barbara\'s life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of Floral City. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is in charge of arrangements. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. The family requests donations in Barbara\'s memory to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 in lieu of flowers.


Charles Harvey

Charles R Harvey, 81, Inverness, FL
Charles Ralph Harvey, 81, of Inverness, FL passed away August 12, 2018 at Arbor Trail Rehab & Nursing in Inverness. He was born in St. Augustine, FL on October 17, 1936 to the late Merrell Augustus and Ella Fair (Griner) Harvey. Charles was a retail store manager and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Viet-Nam Conflict, achieving the rank of Specialist 5th Class. He arrived in this area in 2012, coming from Orlando, FL, and was a Methodist by faith. Charles was a member of the VFW Post #4337, Inverness, as well as the American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Bernice E. Harvey in 1991. Survivors include his companion Betty L. Doran of Inverness; daughters, Lisa Ogle and her husband Mike of Pelican Bay, TX, and Denise McClanahan of Woodlands, TX; brothers Mel Harvey and Wayne Harvey; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Merrell Edwards. Services for Charles are scheduled for Tuesday, September 4, 2:30 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation’s in Charles’s memory to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Gary Harvey

Gary H Harvey, 60, Inverness, Florida
Gary Harold Harvey, of Inverness, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. He was 60 years old. Gary was born in Flint, MI but traveled all over the world with his career in the US Navy, and he retired after 20 years. He moved to this area in April 2006 from Michigan. He loved fishing, boating, golfing, working on cars, helping out his neighbors, family and friends, and he thoroughly enjoyed maintaining his yard in immaculate condition! He was also known to have a very sarcastic sense of humor. Gary was preceded in death by his parents James L. Harvey and Roseann E. Nelson, brothers James and Steven Harvey. Those who are left to mourn his memory are his husband Edwin Childs of Inverness; his step-daughters Kiaya Weaver, and Alexis Ward, niece, Olivia Hannett; his sister Cindy B. Sedlack (Greg) of Millington, MI; and step-grandchildren Alec Childs, Emma Weaver, Damien Weaver, Aliyah Valladares and Charley Daniels. A visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2023 from 11:00-12:30 PM at the Davis Chapel. Interment will follow in the Florida National Cemetery, with honors.
