James “Jim” Spiers, 71, of Floral City, Florida, peacefully passed away at home on July 6th after a long illness with his devoted wife of 43 years by his side.
Jim faced the challenges of his illness with remarkable grace, quiet strength, and an unwavering spirit. He never allowed his circumstances to define him, choosing instead to embrace each day with humor, kindness, and gratitude. His resilience and positive outlook were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jim proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, a service that reflected his character and sense of duty. After his military service, he built a life centered on the simple things that brought him happiness and the people he loved.
He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found his greatest peace on the water while bass fishing. He was an avid pool player who always welcomed a friendly challenge, and there were few things he enjoyed more than taking his Harley out for a ride and enjoying the freedom of the open road. Whether casting a line, lining up the perfect shot on the pool table, or riding through the countryside, Jim found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
Those who knew Jim will remember his quick wit, warm heart, and generous spirit. He had a way of making others laugh, offering a helping hand, and making people feel welcome. Above all, he was a devoted husband whose greatest blessing was the life he shared with his wife Jeanne of 43 years. Their love, commitment, and unwavering support for one another carried them through every season of life.
Jim leaves behind a legacy of courage, kindness, laughter, and enduring love. Although he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the example he set will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Jeanne and the fur babies; Jax, Buster, Bentley, and Sissy.
A graveside service with military honors will take place at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City on Wednesday, July 15th, 11:00 A.M. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:30, at which time we will line up in procession to drive to the graveside service.
May he rest in eternal peace. His journey may have ended, but his love and the memories he leaves behind will live on forever.
