Ronald Cosmo Cusimano, lovingly known as Ron, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born on January 21, 1945, in Rochester New York, Ron was the son of Joseph and Amelia (Mulley) Cusimano. Ron spent many years working as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family.
In 2018, he left the New York winters, making Florida his permanent home.
Ron found happiness in the simple joys of life. Whether he was fishing, hunting, tending to his flowers, or cheering on the Buffalo Bills, he treasured the moments with the people he loved the most.
Above all, he was a loving father, beloved brother, a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, and someone whose love for his family and friends was consistent.
He is survived by his daughters, Tina (Steven) Caldwell and Michele (Brian) Slingerland; grandchildren, Ashley, Stephanie, Brian and Alicia, his beloved great-grandchildren, Jackson, Giovanni and Brielle; his siblings, Anita, Gary, Billy, Diane, Debbie and Eddie; many friends, family and his companion.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joan, his parents, and his brother, James Cusimano.
While his family grieves his sudden loss, they find comfort in knowing he is once again with Joan, the love of his life. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he leaves behind.
Services will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Rochester, New York, on July 27, 2026. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Dewey Avenue entrance beginning at 10:45 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
Ron never cared about fancy clothes- he cared about the people wearing them. To honor his wishes, guests are invited to come as themselves, dressed as he would remember seeing them. Your presence will mean far more than your attire.
Arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness, Florida.
