I lived next door to Ken in Floral City. You couldn’t ask for a better neighbor. Any time I needed help with anything, he would drop what he was doing and head over to my place. We had countless conversations about what was wrong with the world and just as many good laughs. I never met anyone with as many stories as he had. I used to tease him that he had 9 lives because he cheated death so many times. Ken was a great guy and he’ll be missed terribly. The Bible says to Love thy Neighbor, I sure did! Good bye my good friend, see ya on the other side.
You get to pick your spouse but not your in laws. In my case, I won the lottery with Ken and Sue. Ken, or Papa as I called him once Jack was born, lived his life to the absolute fullest. He was eager to help others and was still truckin and doing more than most people his age (and those much younger) right till the end. He was the kind of man who could be incredibly stubborn and yet was so adored by those he met. He was true to himself, always. I had the special privilege of being part of his family when I married his son, Nate. The joy he had being a Papa was immeasurable. Our entire families lives were changed for the better having known him, as a person, as a father, and as a Papa. Rest easy Ken, we’ll miss you everyday and we love you.
