Frances Mary Austin, 76, of Lecanto, Florida, passed away at Tampa General Hospital Crystal River on May 4, 2026. She was born on November 26, 1949, to the late Theodore and Marion (Miller) Elmore, in New York, NY.
Frances proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy, and worked as an administrator for the Department of Defense. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Citrus Hills Ward. She and her husband, Lawrence came to Florida 12 years ago from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Lawrence W. Austin of Lecanto, FL; her children: Adam Travis Austin, wife Tammy of Kalamazoo, MI; James T. Austin and fiancée Aimee Warner of Hernando, FL; Sara Ann Austin of Dania Beach, FL; and 9 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and both brothers: Theodore and John Elmore.
There will be a graveside service at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on Monday, May 11th at 12:30 PM with Bishop Dave Coons officiating. Military Honors will follow. There will be a viewing and visitation at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home on Saturday May 9th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
