Marsha Virginia Marcum, of Inverness, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026 under Hospice care in HCA Citrus Hospital. She was 77 years of age. Marsha was born in Huntington, West Virginia to Burles G. and Margaret (Berry) Boothe, the only girl of their three children. Her parents moved to Michigan for a while, then they came back home to West Virginia when Marsha was still young.
Marsha met Wallace Marcum and in 1970 they married. They became a family of three when their son Burles W. Marcum was born. They moved to and lived in South Point, Ohio for a time, then left Ohio for Inverness, Florida in 1981.
Marsha worked as a pharmacy technician for the pharmacy department at Citrus Memorial Hospital (HCA Citrus) for many years. She loved her family, and loved being around all the children. Marsha especially loved being a grandma to her grandson, Barrett.
Marsha was not only preceded in death by her parents, but also Wallace, her loving and devoted husband of 40 years; and her brothers, Michael and Martin Boothe. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Burles Marcum of Inverness; her grandson Barrett Marcum of Citrus Springs; and several nieces and nephews whom she adored. Marsha will be laid to rest privately with her husband in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Private arrangements are in the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.
