Franklin Albert Brown, Jr., age 90 of Brooksville, FL and formerly of Elmira, NY passed away April 7, 2026 in Tampa General Hospital-Brooksville. Frank was born in Elmira, NY on November 15, 1935 to the late Franklin Albert and Mable (McNett) Brown, Sr. He retired from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper as a Security Guard and served our country in the U.S. Marines Corps.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Betty Shortridge Brown; 3 daughters: Faith Brown Patterson and Bonnie Brown Robinson, both of Clearwater, FL; Geraldine Brown Barner of Elmira, NY; 2 stepsons: Michael Cook of Charleston, SC and Patrick Cook of Brooksville FL; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Donald and Gerald Brown and a sister, Jean Antes.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the Hernando 7th Day Adventist Church with Mr. William Earnhart officiating. Military Honors will be offered on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 1:30 PM from Florida National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join the procession to the cemetery from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness. The procession will depart promptly at 12:30 PM.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Frank’s family members. Frank was an exceptional person always guaranteed to put a smile on your face. He will surely be missed, and i will cherish my memories of him

Deepest sympathies to the Frank Brown family & Betty. We always stopped & talked with them about Horseheads NY & Towanda PA when we saw them on golfcart rides in Cloverleaf Farms Very sad to hear of his passing.
