Don met the love of his life Jean in St. Louis and they got married August 28, 1954, a marriage that would span 71 years. Don enjoyed a successful career at Western Electric before he and his family would venture into entrepreneurship and own restaurants and also established a venue promoting the Indianapolis music scene. He then worked for the State of Indiana, retired and moved to Inverness. Don had so many interests but music was always his favorite. He played guitar but mandolin was his forte. There were so many good times with his family in St. Louis. Don was also an accomplished painter, winning first prize many times at the Citrus County Fair and he loved to play golf at the Inverness Golf and Country Club where was a member. The many St. Patrick’s Day tournaments he and his friends were involved in were epic. His other hobbies included sailing with his daughter Suzanne and making wine in which his Donnie Wine was the favorite drink at all of Don and Jean’s parties. Don was a Christian, a man of faith that was very active at every church he attended, especially at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Inverness.

Don was an honest, fair, and gentle man. If you were lucky to know Don, then you were lucky enough. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, father-in-law, and friend. To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die—-Don will always be with us.

Mr Moser was like a father to me growing up. He was always kind and awesome even to a brat little kid like me. He always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. A great man, a man of dignity and respect. God bless you all.

I send my love and condolences to the Moser family. I cannot express the depth of my gratitude to Don and Jean, who treated me like a son and showered me with kindness, all these years. Don was truly One of the Greats, and I am so very fortunate to have known him. I’m sure Don is Heaven bound, and if he isn’t, none of us even have a chance.
