Richard “Rick” Earl Ferber

Richard “Rick” Earl Ferber, 78, of Inverness, Florida passed away at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL on March 21, 2026. He was born on February 22, 1948 to Richard S. and Betty E. (Campsie) Ferber in Hamilton, Ohio.

Rick proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Parachuter during the Viet Nam conflict He was decorated and honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was Catholic by faith.

Rick was an engineer; he participated in building the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando. A true classic car enthusiast, he especially appreciated Corvettes. He enjoyed watching the Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500. Always an outdoorsman, Rick loved, being on the water boating; deep-sea fishing was a favorite hobby. He loved music, especially rock and roll; the Rolling Stones among his favorites.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Richard Stanton Ferber, his brother, Terrance Dane Ferber and his son, Robert Stanton Ferber. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Betty Ferber; his brother, Peter Ferber; his sister, Sandra McGrath; his large extended family and many dear friends.

The funeral service for Rick will be held at the Charles E. Davis Funeral Home, 3075 S. Florida Avenue, Inverness on Friday, April 3rd, 10:30AM. Visiting and fellowship will take place at the conclusion of the service. Procession to Florida National Cemetery will depart promptly at 12:30PM. Committal with Military Honors will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 1:30PM.
