Roland Bernard “Joe” Duteau

Roland Bernard “Joe” Duteau, age 88 of Inverness, FL passed away March 7, 2026 at his home under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice.  Joe was born in Southbridge, MA on August 10, 1937 to the late Napoleon and Gabriele (Chapedelaine)  Duteau and came to Citrus County in 1961 from Cocoa Beach, FL.  He was a retired masonry contracter  and was known for building in several of the early developments of Citrus County including Beverly Hills.  Joe was a longtime, active, and faithfull member of the Hernando United Methodist Church  (HUMC).  He devoted his love and talents as a member of the HUMC Men’s Group.  Joe was also a charter member of Mended Hearts of Citrus Co Chapter 367.

His memory will be cherished by his wife of 39 years, Sibyl Thala Duteau; 1 son, Larry (Audrey) Duteau,  and a  step daughter, Regina (Harry) Good, both of Inverness; 4 grandchildren: Lawrence Jr, (Traci),  Brenna, Jessica (Anthony) and Julia; 6 great grandchildren: Bradley, Callyn, Anthony, Jillian, Emory, and Jelcee as well as many dear friends.  He was predeceased by 2 sons, Jerry and Ernie Duteau; 2 brothers:  Wilford and David Duteau; and 2 sisters, Mary Rose and Priscilla.

There is a Celebration of Life scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the Hernando United Methodist Church with pastor Shawn Klein officiating.

Joe’s family and many friends are all invited to attend.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory, Inverness, FL  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Hernando United Methodist Church or Mended Hearts Association.org
