Peter Daniel Oelcher

Peter Daniel Oelcher, 82, of Lecanto, Florida, passed at his home under Vitas Hospice, surrounded by his family. Peter was born on July 15, 1943, to the late William and Ruth (Young) Oelcher, in Queens, New York.

Peter proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He owned and operated a supermarket and following retirement, he was employed at Walgreen’s. He and his family came here from Braselton, Georgia, and are Catholic by faith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Erika Oelcher of Lecanto, FL; his children: Jason L. Oelcher and wife, Rochel, of Lecanto, FL; Katrina Oelcher, of Bishop, GA; brother, Raymond Oelcher, of Huntington, NY: and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Billy and Bobby Oelcher; and his sister, Barbara Sidorowicz

A Catholic Prayer Service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Fr. Michael Suszynski of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery with Military Honors from VFW Post 4337.  Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 10:00AM until the hour of service.  The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family.
