D. Michael Witten, of Inverness, passed away suddenly on February 22, 2026. He was 36 years of age.

Michael was born in Buffalo, Wyoming to William C. Witten and Elizabeth (Krejci) Messenger. When he was four years old, his parents made the move to Florida, and Inverness became his lifelong home.

Michael graduated from Citrus High School in 2008. He worked as a pharmacy assistant and also spent time working for Publix. He later chose to pursue his natural talent and passion for art through tattooing. Michael had a true gift for drawing. His creativity, attention to detail, and dedication to perfecting his craft allowed him to leave a lasting mark — not only through his artwork, but on the lives of those who trusted him with it.

Above all else, Michael was a loving and devoted father. Being “Daddy” to his small children was the role he cherished most. His son, Miles, and his daughters, Payton and Skylar, were the light of his life and his greatest pride. He loved them deeply and wanted nothing more than to see them happy and thriving.

Michael was also deeply in love with his fiancée, Heather Seeko. The two had recently become engaged and were joyfully planning a wedding that was to take place next year. Michael was excited for their future together and the life they were building as a family. Their love, commitment, and shared dreams made this season of his life especially meaningful.

Michael loved playing cornhole and disc golf. He was competitive in the best way — always striving to improve and be the very best he could be. Whether practicing, competing, or simply enjoying time with friends, he brought determination, laughter, and heart into everything he did.

He was the kind of person who would drop anything to help his friends or family. Loyal and dependable, Michael showed up when he was needed and never hesitated to lend a hand. He was not only a good friend to many, but someone people could truly count on.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, William Witten.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Elizabeth L. Messenger and step-father, Bob Messenger of Floral City; his son, Miles Witten, and his daughters, Payton Witten and Skylar Seeko of Inverness; his brothers, John Witten and wife Adrian of Inverness and Madison Witten and significant other Becca Helms of Floral City; his sister, Julie Bonura and Husband Matthew of Inverness; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11225 S. Turner Ave., Floral City, FL 34436 at 2:00 p.m., with a time of sharing beginning at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.

Michael’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, creativity, and devotion to his children. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
