Patricia J. “Patty” Nelson

Patricia J. Nelson “Patty” (Rolfe) 70, of Hernando, FL died on January 25, 2026 at home after a prolonged illness. Patty was born on May 13, 1955 at the Naval Hospital in Groton, CT to Donald and Betty (Wilbur) Rolfe.

Patty grew up in Ledyard, CT and attended Ledyard Public Schools. She would later further her studies in finance. She married the love of her life and soul mate Brent H. Nelson in 1986. She started out as a bank teller and throughout her career rose through the ranks to become Branch Manager and Vice President at banks in the Granby and Enfield, CT areas. She was active in several civic organizations during her banking career.

Patty loved to play golf and tennis, and she was an artist and watercolor painter. In retirement, she and Brent were always searching out new adventures, one of which was hiking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. They toured the United States by RV with stops at friends and family around the country. Patty loved to sew and during COVID she produced hundreds of masks and handbags. Patty also served as a volunteer at HCA Inverness Hospital.

She cherished her time with her husband and extended family and provided never ending love and support to them all.

Patty was predeceased in death by her parents, her twin brothers Richard and Thomas Rolfe; her much-beloved mother in-law Evelyn Nelson and the tragic loss of her step son Zackariah Nelson.

She is survived not only by her loving husband Brent, but also her children, Lisa Keeler (Rob) of Enfield, CT, Danielle Bakke of CT, and step daughter Heather Carroll (Joseph) of Fort Wayne, IN; her sisters, Linda Herman (Larry) of Rockledge, FL, Donna Walker of North Franklin, CT, and Nancy Schwarzberg (Rob) of Placentia, CA; her grandchildren Brandon Keeler and Shawn Keeler of Enfield, CT, Gage Glidden of East Hartford, CT, Adamina Glidden of North Franklin, CT, and Gage and Noah Carroll of Fort Wayne, IN; and 2 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Service arrangements at this time are to be determined. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care. Donations in Patty’s memory can be made to: give.michaeljfox.org
