Cleo Lorine Sturdivant

Cleo Lorine Sturdivant, of Inverness, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026. She was eighty years of age. Cleo was born in Turtle, Missouri to Delbert F. and Ada (Pyatt) Mowery. She met, and later married Dorman Sturdivant on March 13, 1966.

Her first profession was as a beautician, and she worked as such for many years. Cleo later went on to be a medical technician, and then finally became a CNA, of which she was very proud. She absolutely loved her job and cared deeply for her patients. She was strong in her Baptist faith, loved her family, gardening, and baking cakes for people. She also loved her cats!

Cleo and Dorman moved to Inverness in 1998 from Missouri to escape the frigid winters, and have made a wonderful home here in Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents and both her sister Catherine McMullin and her brother Ray Mowery. Those left to cherish Cleo’s memory is her loving and devoted husband Dorman; her daughters Sherry Williams of Pinellas Park and Catherine Neeld of Inverness; her son Randy Sturdivant and his wife Pam of Ocala, and sons Mark “James” Golden of Inverness and Bradley Sturdivant of Springfield, MO; and her four grandchildren: Tyree Williams, Vanessa Gonzalez, Kaylee Neeld, and Amberle Neeld. There will be a private celebration of her life at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home and Cremation Care, Inverness.
