Stanley “Joe” Lamble

Stanley “Joe” Lamble, age 83, of Inverness, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2026, under the loving care of his family and HPH Hospice.

Joe was born on January 27, 1942, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Celestine A. and Margaret (Daugherty) Lamble. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a nuclear reactor operator engineer, serving aboard several nuclear submarines. During his naval service, Joe was also part of a specially trained dive team, a role that reflected his discipline, intelligence, and commitment to excellence.

Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Joe began his civilian career with Mobil Chemical in Frankfort, Illinois, where he worked as an electrical engineer. In 1976, after returning from a late-September vacation to Florida—with sunburns still fresh and Chicago’s freezing winds waiting back home—Joe made the life-changing decision to relocate his family permanently to Florida. His love for warm weather, the Gulf beaches, and a better quality of life guided that move.

In Florida, Joe spent several years as a real estate broker in Brandon before discovering his true passion in construction. In 1980, he became a licensed contractor and founded his own company, specializing in custom homes, small commercial buildings, and church construction throughout Hillsborough County and surrounding areas. Joe was respected for his craftsmanship, integrity, and strong work ethic. He retired in 2016 after a long and fulfilling career.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 62 years, Loretta Burkins Lamble; his two daughters, Lisa McKnight of Floral City and Jeannette Lamble Parker of Inverness; his brother, Tony Lamble of Indiana; and his two cherished grandsons, Timothy Parker (and wife Gabriella Parker) and Holland McKnight.

Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Lamble, and his sisters, Sue Hancock and Dena Lamble-Gerkitz.

Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. The family will hold a private family celebration of Joe’s wonderful life on January 27, 2026.

Prayers to the family. Many fond memories of Uncle Joe. He would come in from the Navy, throw all his change across the living room, so all the kids was occupied so he could speak to Grandma and Grandpa. He carried me and Andy to our first baseball game. Cubs vs Dodgers, Wriggly Field. So many more. The Mark V. Bubby is in tears. Give everyone a big hug for me Jannette. Love yall.
