Leonard R. Betzold, age 55 of Hernando, FL passed away at his residence on November 18, 2025 under the loving care of his family, friends and hospice.

Leonard was born in Bangor Township, MI on February 22, 1970 to the late Ray Betzold and Carol Copeland and came to this area in 1986 from there.  He was employed in the maintenance division of  Top of The World Golf courses . 

Leonard is also known for Rocking Citrus county for over 30 years as a member of the: Bottoms up, Pool of Piranha and AYCE as the  bassist. His band(s) volunteered throughout the years playing Fund Raising / Benefit Concerts for those in need in Citrus County and surrounding areas.      

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years Dawn Betzold of Hernando; 5 sons: Izaiah Betzold & spouse Candace, John Betzold & spouse Ashely both of Beverly Hills; C.W. Howard & spouse Sara of Ocala; Jacob Laboy and Zac Hall & spouse Brittany  also from Beverly Hills. He has 1 surviving sister, Tammy Schultz (Lee Schultz), Bay City, MI; 6 grandchildren: Ezekiel, Chloe, Virgil, Tanner, Rylee and Jericho. He was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Betzold and sister, Pam.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory.

    Leonard has been my Brother for 40 years though we’re not related our friendship has always been as brothers he has been a great friend, band mate, father and husband and he will always have my love and respect for being that kind of quality person and I have Love and condolences for his family and friends and God bless you all.

    He, a man far and away from what average is, thoug he never behaved as such.. He loved in a way that was beyond what most hold dearly, I cannot express my adoration enough. You held me how not a single man on this earth could and I am enriched beyond gratitude for it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your legacy will always live and resound in my heart. Thank you Dad for being what No one else could be.

    Lenny, I will forever miss your smile, your humanity, and your integrity, time is so short and precious, and we never know when that will be, but I am grateful that we got to spend time with you and Don and the family and friends who loved you.     Here’s to a great father, husband and friend that anyone can have you will be missed deeply my friend from the first days I met you back in 1990 till now you’ll always hold a special place with myself and many others friends for years played in bands work together was always a great experience love you, brother may you rest in peace till we meet again?
