Arlene Marie Woodward, age 87 of Inverness, FL passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025.

Born on June 19, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, Arlene was the beloved daughter of the late Sigmund and Constance (Walejko) Andrzejak.  She spent her career as a dedicated medical secretary and was a woman of the Catholic Faith.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, William Woodward (September 1, 2004), with whom she shared 48 loving years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Bernard Andrzejak, Arthur Andrzejak, Sigmund Andrzejak, and Alice Murawski.

She is survived by her three daughters: Suzanne and late husband Stephen McVey of Inverness, FL, Deborah Smith of Hammond, IN, and Marianne and husband Steven Ash of Beverly Hills, FL. Arlene was a proud and loving grandmother to five grandchildren: Holly and husband Kevin Fry, Matthew Smith, Michael Ash, Brian and wife Rachel McVey, and Mark McVey who brought her great joy.

In her leisure time, Arlene enjoyed the simple pleasures of life – especially playing bingo and visiting the casino to try her luck at the slots. Her playful spirit and love of games brought smiles to many and added joy to her retirement years.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her honor at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness Tuesday, July 29th at 11:00 a.m. with  Father Michael Suszynski officiating.  Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery with a procession to the cemetery immediately following the mass. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to be made the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Arlene’s memory.

Arlene will be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, deep devotion to her family and faith, and her love of fun and laughter. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

    I’m heartbroken for your loss. Arlene was an amazing person, and I am blessed to have had her in my life. I have many fond memories with her, I will miss walking into a room, her smiling and saying ” hi toots.”
