Charles E. Lewis

Charles E. Lewis, 94, of Lecanto, FL passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto. He was born in Waterbury, CT on December 26, 1930 to the late Judson W. and Irene C. (Clayton) Lewis. Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as a journalist and photographer from 1949 until 1953. He was a Quality Assurance Supervisor with Chase Brass and Copper, and arrived in this area in 1994, coming from Connecticut. Charles was Catholic by faith, and held memberships with Inverness Elks Lodge #2522, BPOE, American Legion Post #0237, and VFW Auxilliary #10087. He was an avid golfer, and a devoted family man. Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife Angela Lewis in 2021, and brother Judson W. Lewis, Jr. He is survived by his sons Steven C. Lewis (Kim) of Beacon Falls, CT; Michael D. Lewis (Candace) of Huntington Beach, CA, Robert E. Lewis (Karla) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister Rita Ann Wooster; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Honor Guard services for Charles will be held Wednesday, May 28, 11:00am, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. The procession to the cemetery will depart the Funeral Home at 10:00am sharp.
