John Thomas Gunn, age 85, Citrus Springs, FL passed away June 6, 2023 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice.
Mr Gunn was born in Walnut, MS on April 9, 1938 to the late L.A. Gunn and Dazzie Gibbs Gunn and moved to Citrus County in 2015. He was employed by General Motors Corp in the Maintenance Department for many years and drove a school bus for disabled children.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Annie Woodard Gunn; 3 children: Gail Phyllis Bell, Kendrick T. Gunn, and Derrick L. Gunn., all of Citrus County; 1 sister, Eva Sue Geanes, Walnut, MS; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Patrick Gunn and 2 sisters, Alean Blake-McNeal and Lorine Cobbs.
There is a Celebration of Life scheduled at the New Church Without Walls on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 3:00 PM with Bishop Douglas Alexander and Rev. Billy Geanes, pastor of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Ripley, MS officiating. Friends may view at the church on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory is assisting the family.
