Eduardo “Sarge” M. Calderon

Eduardo “Sarge” Martin Calderon of Inverness, FL passed away at the Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center with his loving family by his side on February 2, 2020 at the age of 80. Eduardo was born in New York City, NY on April 1, 1939 to the late Emiliano and Eloise (Quinones) Calderon. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Following his military service, he continued to serve his community as a New York City Police Officer and later as a member of the New York City Fire Department. In 1991, he married his loving wife Maria with whom he shared 28 years of loving marriage. Eduardo and Maria made Citrus County their home in 1992 after relocating from Costa Rica. In his spare time he enjoyed reading. A Christian by faith, he loved going to church and attended worship services at the First Assembly of God in Inverness.

In addition to his loving wife Maria, those left to mourn Eduardo’s passing include his daughter, Andi Calderon and her fiance’, Nathan James; sons: Diego and James Calderon; and granddaughter, Ava James. Eduardo was preceded in death by his sister, Ernestine and two brothers, Emilio and Enore.

A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 12:30 PM with Pastor Dairold Rushing officiating. Following the chapel service, burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered by Inverness VFW #4337 Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
