Grace Mary Mennella, 92, of Inverness passed away March 3, 2018 at the Life Care Center in Lecanto. Grace was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 28, 1925 to the late Peter and Marie (Cappadona) Vanacore. She came to Inverness in 1970 from Laurelton, NY. Marie was a beautician in her earlier years before moving to Inverness, FL, where she and her late husband, Ralph, became very active in Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She organized the bingo program, worked tirelessly on several church committees, and volunteered her time in the church office.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ralph Mennella, Jr and his wife Ingrid of Inverness, Michael Mennella (Mary Squire) of Inverness; sister, Gloria Falconieri, New Port Richey, FL; several nieces and nephews; 5 grandchildren: Francesca and her husband, Cameron; Jason and his wife, Teri; Matthew (Emerald), John (Corinne), Joseph and his wife, Ashton; 6 great grandchildren, Matthew, Jayden, Andrew, Johnny, Hayley, and McKenzie.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Ralph Mennella, Sr. on January 25, 2010; her son Louis Mennella on December 6, 2015, and her brother, Alfred Vanacore.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Tim Cummings, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens in Beverly Hills. The family will receive friends at the Chas E Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 PM, where a Wake Vigil Service will be conducted at 7:30 PM, by Fr. Claudius Mganga.
