Jack Edward Watson, age 88, of Apopka, FL and formerly of Inverness, passed away at his residence on June 6, 2017. Jack was born on November 11, 1928 in Knoxville, TN to the late Theodore and Effie Mae (Everhart) Watson. He proudly served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Jack went on to work as a Freight Agent for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was married to Evelyn Regina Watson for over 68 years until her passing on December 14, 2016. Jack had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Inverness, FL.

Those left to mourn Jack’s passing include son, Jack S. Watson of Brentwood, TN; daughters: Julia Leigh Whitt and her husband Scott Butler of Apopka, FL, Jan D. Watson-Hastie and her husband Dr. Joseph Hastie of Auburn, AL; grandchildren: Brandon Whitt, Ashley Johnson and her husband Ryan, Amber Hess and her husband Doug, Josh Watson and his wife Vicki, Dru Washburn; great grandchildren: Luke, Cade and Emerald Johnson, Jack and Sam Watson, Jackson, Will and Sam Washburn, and Jude and Eliza Rose Hess; brother, Russell Kent Anderson of Strawberry Plains, TN. Jack’s family plan to celebrate and remember his life during a family reunion at a later date. Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
