Francis Evans Werner, 81, Inverness passed away Nov 1, 2015 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus & Nature Coast. Frank was born August 25, 1934 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Francis E. and Marion (Evans) Werner and came to Citrus County in 1967 from Virginia Beach, VA. He served our country in the U.S. Navy, having been a submariner for 16 years and was a Korean War Vet. His military affiliations include the DAV Commanders Club, U.S. Submarine Veterans Sturgeon Base Holland Club, Life Member of The DAV, and member of VFW Post 4337 of Inverness. He attended Old Dominion University and Central Florida Community College doing undergraduate work.
Upon his arrival in Inverness, he was employed at the Inverness Post Office for 28 years.
Left to mourn his loss is his wife of 57 years, Beverly M. Brice Werner; 2 brothers, Joseph Lippencott of Somerset, NJ and David Lippencott of Highland Park, NJ; his sister, Mary Story of Plainfield, NJ; 4 nieces, Jennifer and Kathleen Lippencott of Somerset, NJ; and Sarah and Rebecca Lippencott of Highland Park, NJ; 3 nephews, Anthony Brice of Inverness; Gregory Brice of The Villages, and Jason J. Story of Middlesex, NJ.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, Nov. 5th at 11:00 AM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Erwin Belgica, Celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chas E Davis Funeral Home Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until the procession leaves for the church at 10:40 AM.
