SGT Neville Lewis Anderson, USMC (Ret), age 87, passed away October 26, 2015 at HPH Hospice House in Lecanto. Sgt Anderson was born November 4, 1927 in Gary Indiana to the late Glenn and Louise (Waugh) Anderson and came to this area in 1995 from Batavia, IL. He was a retired sales representative in the academic supply business and served our country in both the U.S. Navy and later with the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a Sergeant. He was a member of the Marine Corps League Archembalt Detachment #819, where he served on the honor guard; Korean War Veterans Association Detachment #192; an honorary member of Military Order of Purple Heart, The Patriots of Aaron A. Waver Chapter 776; Floral City American Legion, Herbert Serber Post #225. He enjoyed volunteering for any veteran focused organization and the Vets in Schools to educate children on the military experience. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and RV/camping.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 31 years, Joyce Anderson; his son Roarke Anderson and his wife Tina of Stafford VA; his daughter Stacey Stewart and her husband Robert of Essex, IL; ten grandchildren, Jake, John, Kylie, Alyssa, Paige, Rachel, Gwen, Kailey, Cole, Trace and his wife Britney.
Neville’s life will be remembered at the Chas E Davis Funeral Home on Friday, October 30 at 11:00 AM with the Marine Corps Detachment #819 Honor Guard, Col. Curt Ebitz, United States Army (Ret) and Purple Heart Chaplain Ernie Tucker officiating. Cremation arrangements will follow at a later date.
