Phyllis Ann Howard, age 83, of Inverness, FL passed away April 4, 2014 at Hospice of Citrus County. Ms. Howard was born in Salyersville, KY on April 8, 1930, and had been a resident of Citrus County for the past 14 years. She received her Masters degree in theater from Florida Atlantic University and after earning a law degree at the University of Florida, practiced law in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Ms. Howard is survived by three children: Julian Hogan of Holly Hill FL, Lee Hogan of Inverness FL and Garland Hogan of Lady Lake FL. Celia Hogan, her eldest daughter, is deceased. Her grandchildren include Kevin Scott, Kelly Scott, Cameron Scott, Christopher Horgan, Tara Hogan FitzGerald and Lacy Hogan Maffei.
Ms. Howard had seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She had many relatives in eastern Kentucky including the Oldfields, Hurts and Howards. Her two surviving sisters are Charlotte Thompson and Carolyn Cravens of Lexington, Kentucky.
The family wishes to thank her friends and family for their concern and caring support, especially Brigitte Catrett of Homosassa, who lovingly assisted Phyllis in the last years of her life. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
