CARL L. BALYEAT, age 70, Inverness, died August 8, 2013 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Carl was born on September 28, 1942 in Cleveland, OH to the late Carl J. and Margaret (Bovan) Balyeat. After graduation from Homer High School in Homer, Michigan, he served our country in the United States Navy. On November 23, 1963, he married his wife, Linda. He worked in management in Michigan and Pennsylvania and in Florida at The Villages, in various positions in Citrus County and as bus driver for Lecanto Schools. He was an active member of the Florida Foxtrotter Horse Association. He loved trail riding, camping with his “horsey friends” and showing his beautiful buckskin foxtrotter “Bucky” in the show ring. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Linda Balyeat; his son Brian Balyeat, Ladylake, FL, daughters Tanya M. Balyeat, Tavares, FL and Melissa R. Pearce, Austin, TX; brothers Rodney Balyeat, Tecumseh, MI and Gregg Balyeat, Grass Lake, MI; grandchildren Dylan Lane, Brittney L’Huillier, Austin King and Sawyer King; his brother-in-law James (Sherry) Dye and sisters-in-law Janice (Mike) Braun and Rebecca Morse; numerous nieces and nephews. The family invites friends to say “Happy Trails” to Carl at a graveside committal service with military honors that will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 2:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Friends may join the procession to the cemetery at 1:45 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory.
