Douglas Lee Deckard, November 24, 1963 – December 15, 2023.
\nDouglas Lee “Dougie” Deckard passed away at the age of 60 years old on Friday, December 15, 2023 of a heart attack after a long battle with vascular disease. Dougie was a very thoughtful and loving son, brother, father and friend. <\/p>\n
He is survived by his sons Douglas Lee Deckard, Largo, FL and Eric Eugene Deckard, Beaverton, OR; Bruce, his faithful dog; mother Patricia Jones , Durham, NC; sister Jennifer Deckard, Durham, NC; and his brother Darrin Deckard, Springhill, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Eugene Deckard.<\/p>\n
Dougie enjoyed anything outdoors; fishing, gardening or just hanging out with his best friend, Bruce. Dougie was a landscaper most of his life and took great pride in his work. He loved to plant a seed and watch it grow into something beautiful.<\/p>\n
The family would like to give special thanks to the incredible nurses, staff and physicians, who treated Dougie with care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held at Picnic Island, Tampa, FL, from 12 noon until 2 PM. on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
