Frank was born in Queens, N.Y. to the late Francis P. and Caroline (Havorka) Gilleeny. He retired as a Policeman with the N.Y. City Police Dept. He and his wife, Carol, moved to Citrus County in 1974 from New York.<\/p>\n<p>Frank loved his Citrus County community and wanted to make sure that the children here were given many opportunities to improve on themselves. He was the Founder for several organizations: Citrus County 10-13 Club; NARLEO; DARE Program; and Juvenile Justice Program of Citrus County. All aimed to help keep kids off of Drugs and out of the Courts&#8217; system.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Gilleeny; children: Frank Gilleeny of Inverness; Lisa Gilleeny of Jacksonville, FL; Tania Little (Justin) of Inverness; brother, Jack Gilleeny; 6 grandchildren, Micah, Cameryn, Clayton, Casey, Frank, and Michael; and 1 great grandchild, Andre Jr. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daniel Gilleeny; sister, Rosemary Echols; and a brother, Patrick Gilleeny.<\/p>\n<p>Cremation with care arrangements provided by the Chas. E.
