Daniel – Danny, Dancing Bear, Big O, Colonel, Coach O, but most importantly Dad – was born in Tampa, FL to Mary (Kril) Olinger and the late George William Olinger on December 14, 1962.

In 2007 he married his wife, Kimberly (West) with whom he shared 12 years of marriage. Danny had a career in Law Enforcement that spanned over 30 years. He worked as a Corrections Officer for the State of Florida then went on to work for the Sumter County Sheriff’s office until his retirement in 2016.

A Baptist by faith, he attended worship services at the Wahoo Baptist Church in Bushnell. Being born and raised in Florida, Danny was a Gator fan through and through, those FL-GA games were always exciting in a house divided. He was also a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (something the whole family could agree upon!) and a lifelong season ticket holder. He’ll be watching those New England transfers from his new box seats upstairs. Danny loved spending time on the water with his family and friends. He also dedicated a significant amount of his time coaching baseball and Pop Warner football in Sumter County. He was a mentor not only to the children he coached over the years but, also to his community and the fellow officers he worked with throughout his extensive career in law enforcement.

In addition to his wife Kimberly, those left to mourn Danny’s passing include his children: Cooper Olinger, Sera Prenzlow, Charli Cassidy, Americus Cassidy, and Kyleigh Cassidy; and his mother, Mary Olinger. He is also survived by sisters: Verda Watson and Stella Olinger; dear sisters in law: Tracy West Bumpus, Alison West; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, 2020, 3:00 PM at Calvary Chapel located at 960 S.
