Fidela Alma Marohn, age 95, died peacefully at home on August 8, 2016 holding the hands of her daughter, Cynthia and granddaughter, Amber while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Born on October 20, 1920 in the small town of Middleburgh, New York she was the only child of the late John and Gesine Kump.<\/p>\n
Fidela was raised on a 150 acre dairy farm in Schoharie, New York where she learned the values of hard work and patience, values she lived by throughout her life. She graduated top of her class in 1937 and again at Rochester Dental Dispensary School for Dental Hygienists in 1940, and excelled in her profession. On February 14, 1959, she married Harold Marohn and was a loving wife and mother. Fidela traveled the world with her husband. She was her family’s greatest cheerleader and school fundraiser supporter for her grandchildren with magazines and candy bars too numerous to count.<\/p>\n
She will live on through her daughter: Cynthia Martone; stepdaughter: Virginia Marohn; stepson: Alan Marohn; five grandchildren: Gregory, Jenna, Crystal, Amber and Brianna; five great-grandchildren: Arianna, Devon, Walter Jr., Jade and Jonan.<\/p>\n
Fidela was a soft spoken woman with an iron will. And true to her name, she was faithful to those she loved. She was the model of a virtuous woman, a supportive mother-in-law to Thomas Martone, Jr. and a strong woman who raised a strong family. She bore the woes and joys of her family without complaint and the world is a better place today for her having lived in it. Her family will always remember the incredible woman she was and the legacy of love she left behind.<\/p>\n
A private family viewing will be held August 11, 2016 at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, FL. Fidela will then be laid to rest at the Old Stone Fort Cemetery in Schoharie, New York beside her parents. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E.
