Judith (Judy) Anne Powers, 74 of Crystal River passed into God’s arms on March 19, 2016 surrounded by love and in the comfort of God’s presence.\u00c2\u00a0 Judy was born on July 24, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Edward and Anna (Drum) Goodwin and was preceded in death by one sister Roberta Goodwin.\u00c2\u00a0 Judy shared a special bond with her other sister Joanne Wright (Danny) as they were born on the same day, 15 years apart.\u00c2\u00a0 She was an amazing woman that set the example for so many.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Judy married the love of her life, John, in 1966 and they were married for an amazing 49 years.\u00c2\u00a0 They lived in NJ, but ventured off to Alaska, making some great memories of their early married years together. She later moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL where she was blessed to raise her three children and see them raise families of their own. Judy was a devoted mother that loved her children John Powers (Christine) of Hammonton, NJ, Jennifer Marx (John) of Dover, DE and James Powers (Mirella) of Miami, FL with all her being.\u00c2\u00a0 She\u00c2\u00a0 had a special love for her seven grandchildren: Ysabella, Daniel, Caden John, Jimmy, Elizabeth, Ryen and Zo\u00c3\u00a8. Her grandbabies always brought a smile to her lips and a light to her eyes. Judy had a heart of giving and had a beautiful spirit that enveloped her.\u00c2\u00a0 She was always helping others and dedicated many hours to Girl Scouts, band and other school activities that her children were involved in.\u00c2\u00a0 She absolutely loved young children, reading trashy romance novels, hot dogs and eating sweets.\u00c2\u00a0 In her later years, Judy developed Alzheimer’s, but the spirit of who she was never left her.\u00c2\u00a0 She had a blessed, beautiful and happy life and has now been called to do the same in Heaven.\u00c2\u00a0 Judith’s urn will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date.\u00c2\u00a0 A Memorial Prayer Service and Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Chas E. Davis Funeral Home at 11:00 AM.\u00c2\u00a0 The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 AM.\u00c2\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
