Born in Allegan, MI, he was the son of the late Richard Yale Locke and Evelyn Christin (Ryerson) Locke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">David was a devoted father, husband, friend and animal lover. His faithful dog, Buddy was always by his side bringing him many hours of joy and companionship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An accomplished master electrician, he taught electrical wiring classes at the Lee County Area Vocational Technical Center early in his career. He also held multiple national certifications in traffic operations and traffic safety. Before his retirement, he served as the Public Works Director for the City of Crystal River and the Supervisor of Maintenance for Citrus County Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">David moved to Citrus County from Brooksville in 1999. Christian by faith, he was a member of Gulf to Lake Baptist Church in Crystal River. He was a board member with Habitat for Humanity of the Nature Coast for several years. David enjoyed working on home projects, traveling, and was an avid reader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Dawn Marie Locke; his daughter, Kimberly Barselou of Punta Gorda, FL; son, David E. Locke, II of Collins, MS; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11:00A.M., at Gulf to Lake Church, 1454 N. Gulf Avenue, Crystal River, FL 34429. In lieu of flowers and to honor David\u2019s memory, please consider a donation to Habitat for Humanity of the Nature Coast, or to Gulf to Lake Church. The family is being assisted by the Chas E.
