Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was the cherished son of the late Ramon and Flora Pabon.

Victor lived a long and colorful life, and anyone who knew him knew two things right away: he could build just about anything out of wood, and he had a loud sense of humor that filled a room. A skilled carpenter and accomplished cabinet maker, he took pride in working with his hands, creating beautiful pieces that reflected both his craftsmanship and his patience. But just as memorable as his work was his booming laugh, quick wit, and the jokes he was never shy about sharing.

In 1997, Victor made the move to Florida from the Bronx, New York, beginning a new chapter closer to sunshine, family, and the calmer rhythms of life he had earned through decades of work and devotion.

Victor was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edith, who passed away in December of 1998; his brothers, Jose and Antonio Pabon; his sister, Maria Pabon; and his son, Randy Casiano.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ramon Pabon, Victor M. Pabon Jr., of Inverness; Blanca Pabon-Cotto, of Jacksonville; and his daughter, Frances Torres of West Palm Beach; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always remember his stories, laughter, and unmistakable personality. He also leaves behind extended family and many who became family through the years, including Carmen Mañaz, who was loved by Victor as if she were another daughter and who shared in many of the family’s cherished moments.

Even in his final moments, Victor’s personality shone through. As his family gathered around him, his daughter Blanca leaned in and jokingly promised him a cold Heineken once he came home. True to form, Victor responded. With a bit of determination—and perhaps curiosity about that promised beer—he opened one eye. In that moment, he looked over and saw that his son, Victor Jr., had made it home safely and was by his side. It was a small but powerful moment of love, reassurance, and family that those present will never forget.

Victor’s life reminds us that a man’s greatest accomplishments are not only the things he builds with his hands, but the family he builds with his heart.

A funeral service will be held at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, 3075 S. Florida Avenue in Inverness on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Inverness.

Victor will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever part of the foundation of the family he helped build.

Victor Manuel Pabon, Sr., 94, passed away peacefully under the compassionate care of hospice and surrounded by the love of his family.
