Berry, Jr."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Kenneth L. Berry, Jr. died under the care of Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL on February 10, 2026. He was 72 years old. Ken was born in Orlando, FL on July 11, 1953, to Kenneth L. Berry Sr. and Nancy (Williams) Berry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He grew up as an active member of First Baptist Church Orlando and coached their softball and basketball teams. After attending college at what is now UCF in Orlando, he secured a teaching position in Inverness, FL at Citrus High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1980, he married Cindy Cox, also of Orlando. Their family grew with children Christine and Rob. Over his 35 years at Citrus High, Ken taught a variety of subjects including Physical Science, PE, Weightlifting, and Health. For many of those years, he coached JV Football, Varsity Football, and Girls Softball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCoach Berry\u201d had a routine of lunch and parking lot duties, football practice, Friday night games, and Saturdays watching college football. He was a member of First Baptist, and then Cornerstone churches. In retirement, Ken often reflected on his coaching days. His undefeated JV football season was a proud accomplishment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ken is survived by his wife Cindy, son Rob, daughter Christine (husband Drew), brother Dana (wife Karen), sister Angela (husband David), and grandchildren Sadie, Elisabeth and Alexandra. Services were held privately with the caring assistance of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kenneth L.
