Bernice &#8220;Bunny&#8221; Trawick, U.S. Army (Ret.)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Colonel Bernice \u201cBunny\u201d Trawick, US Army (Ret), age 89 of Inverness, FL passed away January 29, 2026 at Highland Place Assisted Living. She was born in South Paris, ME on November 7, 1936 to the late Norman and Ruby (Wilson) Cummings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bunny served our country in the U.S. Army for a combined 30 years and she retired in 1996 at the rank of Colonel. She was a Registered Nurse and Operating Room Director with a Bachelor&#8217;s in Psychology and a Master&#8217;s in Health Administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Inverness and has served as the past moderator of the Presbyterian Women, Past President of Inverness Women\u2019s Club, Past President of Jaycee Women in Honolulu, Hawaii and West Brook, Maine, Jr. Women in Marlboro, MA, Registered Nurses Retired Assoc. in Citrus County, OES #65 of Inverness, OES #168, Oxford Chapter in Norway, ME, Amaranth Crystal Court #48 of Inverness, Shriners Ladies Nobles of Inverness, Retired Army Nurses Corps Assoc,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AORN, Marion Grange in Belleview, FL, past lecturer Osceola Grange, Inverness, PUFL Member American Legion Post 77, Past Commander Post 77 American Legion, Life Member of MOAA, ROA, Dept. FL, American Legion Past Commander\u2019s Club, Citrus County Veteran\u2019s Coalition and member of Soggy Bottom Blue Grass Bunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Left to cherish her memory are two children: Robert C. Trawick, Jr and his wife Joyce of Inverness and Wanda L. Trawick and her husband Harry of the Bronx, NY; two brothers: Rodney and Eugene Stevens, both of Norway, ME; 1 grandchild: Megan; 2 great grandchildren: Kylie and her husband Adrian and Kailyn; 1 great-great grandchild: Lettie. She was preceded in death by her brother Lawrence and 2 sisters, Nancy and Norma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Celebration of Life is scheduled from the First Presbyterian Church on February 19<sup>th<\/sup> at 2pm, with The Rev. Lou Ellen Hartley officiating followed by the Order of Eastern Star Ritual. Concluding the service Military Honors will be rendered by VFW Post 4337 Honor Guard. The urn will be laid to rest in Florida National Cemetery beside her late husband Robert C. Trawick, Sr. who passed away November 4, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bunny was known for her laughter and loved by so many people over the years. She will be so greatly missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chas. E.
