Robert E. Walker, 95, of Inverness, died at his residence on December 11, 2025. Born in Dolomite, Alabama, he was the son of the late Ernest D. and Ruby Rose (Wyatt) Walker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He served his country honorably as a member of the U.S.M.C. and had a career as a minister serving in various capacities over the years. His life was devoted to his service to God. He was a modest, humble man that quietly helped wherever he was needed. He was an advocate for the Sunday School program, he believed in Christian education. After he retired he continued to serve in various mission projects. He was a devoted husband and father. When Elinor got sick he took on the caregiver role and supported her fully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Formerly from Lake Wales, FL, Robert and Elinor came to this area 25 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Robert is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert \u201cBob\u201d Walker, Jr. and Nanette of Wytheville, VA; his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Lynn Frink and Gerald of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elinor who died on July 17, 2018; his brother, Ernest; and his sister, Wanda. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the Lottie Moon Offering collected at First Baptist Inverness, Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17th<\/sup>, 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Inverness; Pastor Byron Brown officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Burial with full military honors will take place on Thursday, December 18th<\/sup>, 11:30 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
