{"id":117344,"date":"2025-10-12T13:05:30","date_gmt":"2025-10-12T13:05:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chasdavis.com\/wordpress\/?p=117344"},"modified":"2025-10-14T13:35:27","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T13:35:27","slug":"clancy-gail-jones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chasdavis.com\/wordpress\/2025\/10\/12\/clancy-gail-jones\/","title":{"rendered":"Clancy Gail Jones"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Clancy Gail Jones &#8211; <\/strong>August 5, 1937 to October 12, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clancy Gail Jones was born in Norton, Virginia, August 5, 1937.\u00a0 Clancy was known for her sweet nature and big smile. \u00a0She lived in Norton with her parents until her mother\u2019s death, April 30, 1977.\u00a0 At that time, she went to live with her sister\u2019s family:\u00a0 Zena and Rev. Rudolph Wheatley and their children, Larry, Renna, and Al.\u00a0 As a family, they lived in several different cities in Florida while Rev. Wheatley started and built new churches.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For the past 25 years, Renna Wheatley Jablonskis has been Clancy\u2019s official guardian while Clancy has been a full-time resident of the Key Training Center in Lecanto, Florida.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clancy was predeceased by her father, Emmet Monroe Jones and her mother, Myrtle Frazer Jones of Norton. &nbsp;In addition, she was predeceased by her seven brothers and sisters:&nbsp; George Davis Jones (Wife <em>Dorothy<\/em>); Juanita Jones Carrera (<em>Husband Nick<\/em>); Marvin Jack (Bubby) Jones (<em>Wife Ival<\/em>); Victor Lane Jones <em>(Wife Catherine) and surviving wife, June Lovelace Jones<\/em>; Zena Jones Wheatley <em>(Husband Rudolph); <\/em>Charles Sterling (Smokey) Jones <em>(Mary Gardner Jones)<\/em>; Greene Allison Jones <em>and surviving wife, Monica Playle Jones.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clancy is survived by two sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and their children; and her friends and caretakers at Key Training Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A viewing will be held on Friday, October 17, from 5:00 \u2013 7:00 PM at the Hagy and Fawbush Funeral Home, 956 Park Avenue NW, Norton, Virginia.&nbsp; Clancy\u2019s funeral will be at The First Baptist Church, 45 Ninth Street NW, Norton, Virginia, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 18; followed by burial at Laurel Grove.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The First Baptist Church, 45 Ninth Street NW, Norton, Virginia&nbsp; 24273; or to Key Training Center, 5399 W Gulf to Lake Hwy, Lecanto, FL&nbsp; 34461.&nbsp; The Chas. E.
