She was born on January 22, 1931, in Savannah, Tennessee, to George and Cora Tidwell Gibbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1955, Jackie married the love of her life, Marvin Adkisson, who preceded her in death in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Melvin, and her sister, Ruby Gibbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jackie is survived by her two sons, Dennis (Jeanie) of Plant City, Florida, and Stephen (Teri) of Inverness, Florida. She was a proud grandmother to four granddaughters: Brittany Tess (Billy), Stephanie, Chelsea, and Kaley, and great-grandmother to Cruz and Breeze Tess; and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jackie lived a full and loving life. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, reading, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though Jackie and Marvin spent most of their lives in Rockford, Illinois, they moved to Florida from Walnut Ridge, Arkansas in 1992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Florida Special Olympics in Jackie\u2019s honor: &nbsp;<strong>Special Olympics Florida <\/strong>1915 Don Wickham Drive, Clermont, FL 34711.
