Johnnie \u201cGay\u201d Graham, age 88, of Floral City passed away on January 22, 2025 at HPH Hospice in Lecanto. She was under the loving care of her daughter, Denise and son-in-law, Butch Slusser for four years. Gay was born in Johnson County, Georgia to the late Andrew Dalton Jackson and Corine Haywood Jackson. Her stepmother was Virginia Holloman Jackson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While raising her three children, Gay worked part time in retail. Primarily she was a homemaker in her own home. Gay and her late husband of 67 years, James \u201cJim\u201d Huston Graham, moved to Citrus County from Clearwater, FL in the 1970\u2019s. They attended the Connection Church of God for over 40 years. Then she attended the Real Life Fellowship of Inverness. Gay and Jim loved traveling and camping. Most of all they loved being with their family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to her parents, stepmother and loving husband, Jim, Gay was preceded in death by her son, Del Huston Graham; and daughter-in-law, Delene Bogart Graham. Left to cherish her memory is her son, James Darvin Graham; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia \u201cDenise\u201d (Graham) and Warren \u201cButch\u201d Slusser all of Inverness; her sister, Wynette Stevens of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 22, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Connection Church of God, 416 US Hwy 41 South, Inverness, with Pastors David Lucas, Richard Smyth, and Harvey Dunn officiating. The service will be live streamed on the Church\u2019s Facebook page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gay\u2019s urn will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
