Steven Michael Dickson, age 75, died December 4, 2024 at his home in Inverness under the care of VITAS Hospice. Steve was born in Belvidere, IL, the son of the late Allen and Elaine (Fassett) Dickson. He came to Citrus County in 2009 and continued his 40+ year career in construction. Steve was a decorated U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Steve was an active member of local VFW Post #4337 and American Legion Post #400.
Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Schandelmeier of IL; brother, Wayne Dickson of Florida, and niece, Renee Amoroso of IL. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Erin Huggins and grandchildren, Emilie and Jaxon Huggins of Lake Hamilton, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Turk and Charlene Dickson of IL; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Paul Thompson of WI;; nieces, Donna Ferguson of IL and Rylee Pratt of TN.
Steve will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery. Cremation with Care by Charles E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness.
