Norman Shimko Sr

Norman L. Shimko, Sr., age 87, Inverness, FL, passed away on October 24, 2024, in Citrus Memorial Hospital. Norman was born in Center Township, PA, on February 28, 1937, to the late Michael and Bertha (Stepinski) Shimko. He was always proud of his 38 years as a Foreman and Methods Engineer at Lincoln Electric Company before retiring to Florida in 1997 from Eastlake, OH. Norman and his late wife, Dolores, attended the First Methodist Church of Floral City. Norman enjoyed outdoor sports: hunting and fishing. After retiring to Florida, Norman said he started his second career as an amateur golfer.

Left to cherish his memory are his two children: Norman L. Shimko, Jr. and his wife Laura of Madison, OH, and Rena Shimko of Inverness, FL. There are three grandchildren, Meghan, Emily, and Katie, and six great-grandchildren, Logan, Liam, Lillian, Sean, Silas, and Natalie. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Dolores Shimko, who died July 5, 2016, and his brother and sister, Michael Shimko and Mary Williams.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Floral City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clara Belloit officiating. Burial will be private at the Fero Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
