Jeanne Ford

Jeanne Mary Ford, of Inverness, passed away from an extended illness on Monday, October 21, 2024 at her home under Hospice care. She was 78. Jeanne was born in Buffalo, NY to Thomas J. and Helen E. (Langan) Shanahan, and she was very proud of her Irish heritage. She attended Bryant & Stratton College (business school) in Buffalo. Jeanne met Gene, the love of her life in 1974 and they married in 1975. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved her family dearly. Jeanne worked at Wegman’s Grocery store for 22 years, bouncing around between the deli, the pharmacy, and other areas of the store where she saw needed help and attention. Gene was a volunteer firefighter with the U-Crest Fire Department, so Jeanne joined the U-Crest Ladies Auxiliary. Gene and Jeanne would move from Clarence, New York to Inverness, Florida in 2011, and have formed a community of friends in their neighborhood and church family. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, as well as all of her siblings. Those left to cherish her memory are her Loving and devoted husband of 48 years Gene R. Ford; her sons Troy Ford (Carrie), Jason Ford (Lisa), and Michael Ford (Michelle); her daughters Cheryl (Tim) and Tammy (Dave); her grandchildren Jessica, Jayden, Julia, Jake, Kevin, Alec, Kyle, Jocelyn, Morgan, Savannah, and Zachary; and several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, and a committal will be held at 12:30pm at Florida National Cemetery.
