Janet Lynn Bensinger, 81, of Inverness, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at HPH Hospice in Lecanto. Born on November 1, 1942, in Lodi, Ohio, to the late Alexander and Geraldine (Dearth) Forrester, Janet brought warmth and laughter to all who knew her.
Janet’s journey led her to Citrus County in 1981, where she found her calling in real estate and partnered with her beloved husband, Ben, in their thriving auction business. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her heart overflowing with love for her family, especially her cherished “grandbabies.” Janet’s love of reading was a constant companion, filling her life with knowledge and adventure.
Janet leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by her husband of 60 years, Francis “Ben” Bensinger; her son, Kevin Bensinger and his wife Sheila of Inverness; her daughter, Holly Noegel and her husband Reece of Dunnellon; her sister, Joyce Timic of Ohio; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Karen Long.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 2:00pm to 3:00 pm at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Inverness.
