Nettie “Irene” Gardner, age 87, Inverness FL passed away September 8, 2024 in the Vitas Hospice Center in Lecanto.
Irene was born in Bellefontaine, OH on April 6, 1937. She resided in Tampa for almost 70 years. She was a retired glass maker, retiring from the Thatcher Glass Company in Tampa. They manufactured glass beverage bottles.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Small and her husband Michael of Inverness. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin E. Gardner on March 5, 2003. Nettie also lost 3 brothers in the war: Bazil, Harry, and John Lowman and 1 sister Dorothea. She also had 2 grandchildren who passed away: Robert Adam and Steven Louis Staniszewski. Her mother and father, Helen E. (Betz) and Samuel P. Lowman, predeceased her as well.
The family will have a private celebration of life and place the urn beside her husband, Alvin at Florida National Cemetery. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory.
