Bettie D. Lacy, of Inverness, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 23, 2024. She was 84. Bettie was born in Ameagle, WV to Henry and Virginia (Massey) Lunsford. She has been living in Florida for 66 years, where her children were all born. She and the love of her life have been married for 50 years, and were together long before then. Bettie loved boating, camping, and crocheting, especially making dish rags for folks she loved. She also had compassion, and was passionate about, the homeless. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband David Lacy of Inverness; son Jerry Watson (Becky) of Inverness; daughter Glenda Pierson (Bill) of Daytona Beach; son Hank Lacy (Lisa) of New Hampshire; daughter-in-law Pam Watson of Kentucky; and 28 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Those who wish may make memorial donations in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
