Rose Valent

Rose Valent (“Rootbeer Rosie”), 95, of Floral City, Florida, passed away on April 20, 2024. She was born on December 23, 1928 in Tamaqua, PA. Rose, known for her love of singing spiritual songs with the Calvary Chapel singers at local nursing homes and her devotion to the Rosary at Our Lady of Fatima, will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Rose is survived by her 3 daughters: Roseann Straub of The Villages, Diane Valent of Inverness, and Mary Ellen Valent-Keane and husband Brian Keane of Alpha, NJ; 1 son Martin Valent and wife Ana Valent of Hillside, NJ; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son Jackie Valent, her husband John (Jack) Valent, and her partner Albert Giacchi.
During her career, Rose worked as a waitress for 30 years in Somerville and Bound Brook, NJ. She was an active member of TOPS #373 Inverness and found joy in her involvement with the organization. Rose found solace in her faith and attended services at Floral City Baptist, Our Lady of Fatima, and Calvary Baptist.
Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. The family extends their gratitude to all the staff at The Grove Health and Rehab and HPH Hospice for their compassionate care during Rose’s final days.
