Laura Dorothy Dixon, age 87, Inverness, FL passed away March 24, 2024 at the Grand Living Senior Center. She was a compassionate and caring mother, grandmother, and friend.

Mrs Dixon was born in Jersey City, NJ on December 12, 1936 to the late John and Carrie (Osborne) Antanies and moved to Florida in 1979 from Far Hills, NJ. She dedicated herself to caring for others as a nurse for over 35 years and was proud to serve as the VP of Nursing at Citrus Memorial Hospital. One of her passions was the Citrus County Fair Association where she worked tirelessly and served on the Board of Directors. She was the center of the family, deeply loved and will be missed.

Left to cherish her memory are three children: C.J. Dixon of Inverness, Denmar Dixon of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Valerie Hale of St. Augustine, FL; 1 brother, John Antanies of Colorado; 2 sisters: Margie Radil and Mary Paolacci, both of New Jersey; 9 grandchildren: Kimberly, Audrey, Eileen, and Cole Dixon; Danielle Phillips and Nicole Dew; Preston, Emery and Evan Hale; 4 great grandchildren: Maverick and Bronson Dew and Christopher and Brian Phillips.

The family has made a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Laura’s name; a charity that she generously supported throughout her life.
