The Rev. Heriberto (Eddie) Torres, Jr., age 44 of Beverly Hills passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, in the HCA Florida Citrus Hospital in Inverness, FL.
Pastor Torres was born in Hartford, CT on December 14, 1979, to Heriberto Torres, Sr., and Carmen (Martinez) Torres. They moved to Florida from Pennsylvania. Eddie spent most of his adult career working in real estate and banking, however he served as the Executive Pastor of Redemption Point Assembly of God Church in Inverness since 2019. He earned his master’s degree from Liberty University and was scheduled to complete his Doctor of Urban Ministry degree in 2024.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Zugeilmarie (Ortiz) “Zully” Torres and 4 wonderful children: Jailene Montalvo-Torrez of Beverly Hills, Gisela Torres of Orlando, Bryana Ortiz-Torres of Beverly Hills, and Xavier Ortiz-Torres of El Paso, TX; his beloved parents, Heriberto, and Carmen Torres; 4 Sisters: Mabel Figueroa, Ruth Clark, Yelitza Torres, and Elizabeth Metallo; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He also loved his dogs, Gucci, Chanel, Armani, Ruger, and Dutch.
Pastor Eddie Torres was a friend to all who knew him. He loved people and spent hours praying for them. Along with his administrative role as Executive Pastor managing Redemption Point and working with the church staff, he spent the last year developing and teaching two men’s Bible studies where he grew close to and impacted men of all ages. He also was in the process of developing and launching a ministry school on the campus of Redemption Point. When Eddie wasn’t working hard doing the Lords business, he enjoyed playing practical Jokes on those around him and loved to laugh. His hobbies included customized Jeeps and collecting sneakers. He enjoyed going to Jeep shows with his wife and his parents.
Pastor Torres’ life will be celebrated at the Redemption Point Assembly of God Church on Thursday, March 7th. 2024 with The Rev. Stephen Miller officiating. Other members of the church staff and family members will participate and share their memories. Services are scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM. There will be a visitation at the church from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eddie’s honor to Redemption Point Church, Attn: Zully Torres. The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home is serving the family.
