Kerry Uzell

Kerry Peter Uzell, Sr. 83, of Inverness, passed away at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto,FL on February 19, 2024. He was born on November 23, 1940 in Stafford, Connecticut to the late Peter and Helen (Mitkus) Uzell. He came to Citrus County in 1978 from Enfield, CT to be closer to his parents. Kerry was a Sales Manager for a RV Sales Company for most of his 46 years in Florida, as well as working in Sales at a local Ford Dealership.
Left to cherish his memory are his surviving children: Debra MacCoy of Vernon, CT., Jamie Summers of Vernon, CT., Kerry Peter Uzell, Jr., of Vernon, CT, Christine Dill of Dunlap, Illinois, and Michael Uzell of Sayville, NY, and step daughter, Lisa Cortese of Tolland, CT; 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Kerry was preceded in death by his brother Peter Uzell, III and his sister, Gwendoline Burkhart. Also left to cherish his memory is his very dear friends, Carolyn Moss, Norman Koof, and Jan Uzell.
Kerry loved the races, playing golf, and recreational casino nights. He charmed the ladies with his bright smile, blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. A ladies man and a guys-guy he got along with everyone. Kerry has had pets his whole life but had a special connection to his beloved cat, Oliver, who he rescued 3 years ago, many would say Oliver rescued him.
Kerry didn’t want people to mourn his death rather he wanted a celebration of life, which will be in Connecticut on May 19 at his ex-wife, Norah’s, house in Vernon, CT where family and friends are welcomed. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, in Inverness, Florida. In memory of Kerry Uzell donations can be made to a local pet shelter.
