Mackenzie Reed Boots, 29, of Tampa, FL passed away January 25, 2024 at his residence in Tampa. He was born in Tampa and was a lifelong resident there. Mackenzie was a chef and a Christian by faith. He enjoyed pickle ball, shooting pool, golfing, and loved baseball and sports. Mackenzie was pre-deceased by his Grandparents Rudolph and Mildred Boots of Inverness, FL and Julius Buford of Tallahassee, FL. Mackenzie is survived by his parents, Michael (Joanie) Boots of Live Oak, Fl, and Alycia (Brent) Boudreau of Lutz, FL; his siblings, Michael (Ciara) Boots of Jacksonville, FL, Christopher Boots of Live Oak, FL, Samuel Rink of Lutz, FL, Victoria Cunningham of Live Oak, FL, and Madeleine Rink of Lutz, FL; stepsiblings, Brent Boudreau Jr., Devon (Taylor) Boudreau, and Greyson Boudreau; and maternal grandparents Jane and Rob Tessmer of Inverness, FL. He is also survived by his beloved dog/daughter, Ophelia, who was his constant companion and the absolute joy of his life. Mackenzie was also loved dearly by his uncles Rob Jr. (Jen) Tessmer, James Boots, Thomas (Barbara) Boots, and aunts Carol (Frank) Yanossy, Christine Boudreau, and Darien (Levi) Gallian, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was larger than life. He overcame many hardships in his short life time and still came out on the other side. Mackenzie was a good son, a good brother, and a good friend. He was fiercely loyal and always wore his heart on his sleeve. If you were lucky enough to be loved by him, then you were lucky enough. A Celebration of Life Service for Mackenzie will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, 12:30pm at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness with Pastor Mike Wilburn officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 11:00am until the time of service.
